Dr. Carolyn Brug has been practicing optometry since 1985. Dr. Brug is a native of Northern Kentucky and was valedictorian for Newport High School, class of 1976. Dr. Carolyn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Centre College. She attended University of Alabama, Birmingham, where she received her Optometry Doctorate degree. Dr. Brug is a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserve where she served as an optometrist with dates of service from 1987 until her honorable discharge in 1998. As the Doctor begins transitioning to retirement she is offering her services in the optical department. She will no longer be seeing patients for eye exams.
Dr. Brug brings a wealth of experience with her as she had been managing a private optometric practice and optical in Erlanger, Kentucky for over thirty-five years. Dr. Carolyn serves patients of all ages, but especially enjoys working with the optical side of optometry. She recognizes that it’s not just a great glasses prescription from the doctor but also exceptional frame and lens materials that provide the best solutions to meet a patient’s visual needs. Dr. Brug is a member of the Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Carolyn has two grown children. She loves doing crafts, and spending time with family including her cherished dog. She is looking forward to being part of the Metzger Eye Care team where they will utilize her extensive experience in the eye care field. She values her patients as family, and as she transitions to retirement, she is pleased that her patients will be welcomed so enthusiastically by her fellow doctors at Metzger Eye Care.
