While at SCO, she served as Vice President of Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) where she travelled to Belize, Nicaragua, and Ecuador to provide free eye care to underserved populations. She completed her clinical externship rotations at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Alaska and private practice in Vermont.
Dr. Akin is a member of the Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She enjoys practicing primary eye care, with an interest in ocular disease management. In her free time, she loves to travel and knit. Dr. Akin resides in her hometown of Hebron, KY and is excited to be back in Northern Kentucky practicing at Metzger Eyecare!
